Biography
I am a UK Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) registered consultant clinical psychologist (registration PYL25189) with a wealth of clinical, managerial, supervision and leadership experience in mental health, social care and business settings.
Qualifying in 1992, I bring over 28 years clinical, senior management and leadership experience together with experience in group relations and conversational leadership to enable realistic and humane perspectives on my work.
I am highly experienced and skilled in ensuring strong collaboration between individuals, disciplines, teams and organisations (often with seemingly divergent views or positions) in order to meet common goals and aspirations. As Lead Clinician to Camden Learning Disabilties Service I had full responsibility for the development and implementation of multi-disciplinary work and clinical governance systems for adults presenting with high-risk behaviours and/or mental health difficulties. I co-led the service through two successful inspections by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), achieving good ratings across all domains (one of only two service lines in the trust to achieve this).
I am proud to take a truly integrative approach in all my work, combining various psychological models as appropriate, together with the recognition that best work occurs when we attend to all aspects of self (emotional, physical, intellectual, spiritual). I see professional and personal development as deeply linked, considering my ongoing self-work (therapy and other related experiences) as vital to my professional as well as personal self.
I completed training in Conversational Leadership with David Whyte (www.davidwhyte.com) via Invitas (The Institute for Conversational Leadership www.invitas.net 2017/19) and am well versed in systemic and psychodynamic approaches to leadership and clinical work.
In May 2017 I established my own freelance clinical, supervision and leadership consultation practice.
