Throughout my teens and early twenties I constantly struggled with feelings of stress and anxiety. I accepted it as part of life, but in reality the way I was feeling was not normal. By the time I was 22 I was exhausted, stressed and totally burned out.

I was working in a job that completely stressed me out. I was struggling with anxiety but not getting any help for it. I was sleeping terribly, had awful migraines where I’d occasionally lose the feeling in my face and left arm. My eczema was completely out of control. I cried almost daily, and panic attacks were a weekly occurrence.

It wasn’t until about a year later that I knew I needed to do something to take back control of my life. We had just gotten married so it felt like a good time to start a new routine.

That’s when I began taking proper care of myself. I ate well because I wanted to feel good, I went to the gym because I felt strong and energised by it, I journalled because it helped me organise my thoughts.I quit my job and retrained as an Occupational Therapist.

In the years that followed I found yoga and meditation, which helped me feel calm and accepting of my emotions. I learned about how our physical environments can influence our physiological stress levels. I went to therapy and learned to say no, to prioritise myself and that I deserve to take care of me.

When people ask me why I care about promoting wellbeing. This is why. I know what it feels like to let stress rule your life and feel completely out of control. But now I know what it feels like to be on the other side of it, I want to help others find the same freedom I have.

As a qualified Occupational Therapist I now use my professional training alongside my personal experience, to help others avoid the same mistakes I made.

I firmly believe that burn out is avoidable, no matter your life circumstances. And you can achieve both your personal and professional goals - if you have the right tools and a helping hand in the right direction.

Feel free to get in touch if you'd like more information, or to set up a free info session where we can chat about where you're currently at, where you'd like to be, and what we can do to help you get there.

BSc Occupational Therapist, HCPC Registered

As an Occupational Therapist I am holistically trained in both physical and mental health & wellbeing. I have used my training working in the NHS with various patient and client groups, but the goal remained the same - to help people do more if the things they need and want to do in life.

More recently, I decided to start my own private practice in order to focus on helping people achieve their health & wellbeing goals with a focus on stress management. To date I have helped people from all walks of life including students, new graduates and middle aged women.
